Bloody generals and staff always manage to make jobs up and bloat their numbers..... Pictures of the painted units can be seen at my site, http://members.westnet.com.au/DalGavan/syw.htm and http://members.westnet.com.au/DalGavan/syw2.htmThings are still rather busy and while I haven't been working on my Imagi-nation, I have been working on my historical SYW figures. And I even managed to have a couple of games! At the moment my armies consist of 1570 painted figures, which gives me:
20 Infantry battalions (53 figures each) 4 light infantry 1/2 battalions (27 figures each) 6 heavy cavalry squadrons (28 figures each) 3 light cavalry squadrons (27 figures each) 10 artillery batteries (11 figures, 2 guns and 2 limbers each) 43 staff and escorts

Very impressive, sir.

A very impressive display, indeed. The figures are wonderful. Sometimes I kinda wish I'd opted for that scale for my imaginations. I like the terrain too. My eyes not being what they were, may I ask are they tiles or foam modules?
ReplyDeleteYes, impressive indeed! :-) The figures and set up give off a real aura of the period - wish I had something very like!

Nothing quite like Russians on the move. You armies are so nice they should do double duty as your imigi-nation armies by swapping out the flags...
ReplyDeleteNice Dal,
ReplyDeleteI still added you to Fine and Dandy links as a Goulburn Club memeber, even though you have moved to Qbyn.
I have almost finnished my Russian 15mm so we can hhave a stoush soon!
cheers
matt
Good lokking setup you have there and a nice collection of figures

G'day, Gents.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comments.
AJ, they're MDF tiles, made by Dagger about 20 years ago.
Bill, that's a great idea. I can paint up the officers and drummers for RNS- the men get stuck with cheap red waistcaots, not expensive crimson.
Matt, did you get my replay about basing? INF 10mm sq, cav .5 inch X 1.5 inch, individually based.
Dal.
....we are always watching, just looking...
ReplyDeleteOIIIIIIIO
